Rabbit Soup

Four tokotas where on a trail, the trail leading to a nearby rabbit warren a common place for the tokotas and handlers of the tribe to catch the creatures. It was midday and the pack was on a very important mission the humans had come down with some sort of spring fever and these four had been handpicked to retrieve the most important ingredient for rabbit soup. The only true cure for such an ailment.

At the head was Panik a dire the largest of the group and the oldest. She wasn’t use to being the oldest as her mother Bonnie usually came on important missions like these however she was at home caring for the humans. Instead they got a puny little toki Panik huffed. She could see the trees parting ahead of them opening up to their destination.

Dark-Dragmon
Bear, the small toki of the group, followed up behind Panik as they walked to the rabbit sanctuary. His ears slightly flattened against his head. He was usually fine with dires as his pack's alpha was a dire but three of them? Ha! He was absolutely terrified of being squished by a monstrous fluffy butt then suffocating to death or worse....much worse. But Bonnie begged him to go in her place as Era had requested that she stay with him. It also helped that Bear was the best small prey hunter in his pack because of his small size so he said yes.

Even though he was kinda regretting it...

Faith-Wolff
Floe followed close behind the two lead tokotas. She was a proud carrier of the Zhenjin-Bonnie lineage, buuuut her personality would say otherwise. Much like how she practically pranced in place from her excitement to be going hunting with her beloved mother. Her fluffy tail wagged quickly as she took in all of these new scents, her massive head turning in all directions as she looked to and fro.

She took up the end position along with Anvil as they trotted along, wanting to give Bear his needed space. "This is so exciting!! I've never been to this part of the territory before! What does this..warren-thingy look like?" she asked, her voice high and bouncy.

Sniper-Hidu
Anvil pulled up the rear, he was deeply saddened today though. With Hidu sick there wont be any forging to be done today, and any day without the forge being worked is a sad and dark time. He was in a hurry to get the rabbits, hoping the soup will make the humans better, and Hidu will forge tonight. He looked ahead of the pack and saw Panik leading the way, the way she carried herself and the strength that radiated from her made him lose his balance for a minute. As he stumbled he tried not to run into Floe. He regained his balance and thankfully no one noticed. He walked a little more carefully now but his tail wagged a little faster.

Panik Paused at the edge of the clearing waiting for the others she didn’t want to run in and scare all the rabbits off. She crouched down though even in this position she was still a head taller than their shortest member. She scanned the area noting a few of them hopping about inspecting the newly sprouted flowers and eating.

Dark-Dragmon
The tundra toki quickly caught up to the large dire that led the group to their hunting grounds. He slowly pushed through the bushes to get a better look at their sought out prey. Making very little noise when he moved through the bush, his eyes closed a bit to focus in on the grazing mammals. He could count about five of the small creatures out hopping around. They would need at least fifteen to make enough soup for everyone that was sick for the next few days. Bear was hoping there would be more hiding underground or deeper into the warren.

Faith-Wolff
Floe hurried alongside them, her head peeking over Panik's neck as her eyes widened. "Ooooohhhhh....." she muttered in a hushed whisper, her lavender orbs scanning the warren below as the rabbits went about their business. Their scent filled her nose, making her maw salivate a bit as she stood entranced.

Sniper-Hidu
Anvil came up last to the party, he sat down where he was and looked at the group waiting for his instructions. He didn’t need to see the warren to know his job. He was kinda hoping to just dig up holes, would be a bit easier then chasing rabbit up and down the valley. Maybe Bear can fit in some of the holes, wait maybe he could use him as one of the needed rabbits. Anvil turned his head looking at Bear, he kinda looked like a rabbit to.

Panik felt a few drops of saliva fall onto her head from her fixated daughter. Her ears flattened and she let out a warning growl quickly standing to her feet and shaking herself off. “Okay let's-” the growl was a little too loud though and a few of the closer rabbits paused looking around nervously Panik quickly crouched back down hoping they hadn't spotted her.

The rabbits that were exploring perked their ears up as they heard Panik's growl. The creatures squealed, warning the rest of their companions that were predators nearby, as they ran into their dens trying to flee from the Tokotas. Bear growled a bit as he backed out of the bush. "You fucking twit twats!! Look what you've done! You've made our prey scurry because someone couldn't keep their fucking mouth juices in their mouth and the other couldn't handle said mouth juices!" He glared at both Panik and Floe then he huffed. "I would have excepted better from Bonnie's kin!" He whispered that last part to himself mainly but really didn't care if the rest of them heard.

The male walked through the bushes he was hiding in a moment before and headed towards the holes the creatures fled to.

Floe snorted to the smaller tokota, her eyebrow twitching as something uncharacteristic came over her. "If my grandmother wasn't your pack mate I would easily squish you with my paw!" she growled, her neck fur rising from his insult.

She pushed past her mother, walking down into the valley.

Panik watched her daughter go proud to see Floe stand up for herself before huffing and walking towards the toki. Her much longer legs made it easy for her to out pace Bear and when she was next to him she let out a deep growl bumping into him a bit before walking past to the holes.

Sniper-Hidu
Anvil leaning backwards glad he wasn’t in that little mess, thought to himself. Do i really wanna be related to these guys? He stood up stretching and then looked to Panik leaving the brush. He walked out after her and asked, "would you like me to wipe that off ya?" He said looking at the wet spot in her fur.

Panik huffed a bit not sure what to think but stopped and looked at him "Well you're brave"

Bear growled at the two female dires, they didn't really care if their humans were sick! It obviously didn't seem like by the way they were acting and it just pissed him off even more. If Era got worse he wouldn't be able to live with himself and here these two were pissing about like this was just a normal hunting trip! Okay, maybe expecting them to be like Bonnie was a bit harsh and rude but they should be acting serious on this at least that's what the male believe.

As he walked past Anvil and Panik he noticed how Anvil was trying to flirt with the large dire. He sighed, trying to contain his angry, "Alright love birds can we focus on the task at hand? We do have sick handlers if any Tokota forgot which it seems like it!" He huffed before heading deeper into the warren.

Floe's snout scrunched at the snippy little toki before muttering out of his earshot. "Just get in the damn hole and shut your trap...."

The white dire turned her attention to her mother and Anvil. "So, what will I be doing?" she asked, her tone focused and serious for once

Sniper-Hidu
Anvil turned and did a low growl towards Bear, Ghost will have to hear about this later. Ghost will make him pay for fucking up this moment. Anvil walked into the field looking for holes, he knew that his butt wont be fitting in any of these holes.

"Bear" Panik said with a bit more force than was necessary "Is going to get his little ass into those holes and flush out the rabbits. We are each going to take a section of the warren and catch the rabbits that come out."

Panik motioned to her left "Floe you guard those ones" Then to her right "Anvil the ones over there" and she walked forward a few more paces to watch the holes in the center.

The male rolled his eyes at Panik as he thought to himself, 'If you all wouldn't stop being ferrets then I wouldn't have to be 'pissy' as Ghost likes to put it'. "And don't move too much you oversize hedgehogs." The toki commented, "The creatures can feel you all stomping around in their burrows." Bear moved from hole to hole sniffing at them, figuring out which hole would be best to enter. "Also, if you see a youngin or pregnant rabbit pop out let it go. It saves us from moving to warren to warren when the populations become nearly extinct."

With that he headed into hole, hoping they would actually follow his instructions...
