Quite the Story (Easter Collab)

Padfoot
The sun had set hours ago by the time the party returned home. It had been a long day one that had started as an innocent Easter egg hunt and ended in blood. Padfoot and Hidu led their respective packs back into the safety of their borders. Hidu was atop Ghost followed closely by Star and his little shadow with Suka trailing a ways behind. Next came Padfoot and Summer and the last to arrive looking a little worse for wear was Clyde. The Sand Roan had cuts on his face dried blood darkening the fur. The handlers led their mounts to the barn to be un-tacked. Dinner time had already come to pass for the tokotas who'd spent the day in the village so the new arrivals hung around the barn waiting for their own. The younger pups who'd already eaten lingered around hoping for scraps from the adults. Once the food was passed out Padfoot and Hidu headed back towards town hall for dinner with their tribe mates. Boy did they have a story.

Hidu
Ghost being one of the first to finish eating laid down on a large pile of hay to rest his tired paws. As Star laid down at her bowl near Ghost hay pile to continue nibbling. Ghost's Shadow found a spot next to her.

Clyde licking his wounds not even touching his food yet attracted the attention of the younger pups who had nearly forgotten about the hope for more food.

Spice tilted her head looking at Clyde's wounds "What happened uncle Clyde?"

Sugar snorting behind her "probably teased Star again".

Ghost pops his head up "you did what again?" letting out a low growl

Padfoot
Clyde huffed "you really think I'm that stupid old man"

Hidu
Ghost glared "ohh if i didn’t do that then what did" he laid back down.

Star perking up "yes what did happen I wonder I only heard a lot of screaming?"

Padfoot
Annik perked up as well turning back to Clyde "Well?" he asked an exited expression on his face

Clyde looked at the pups as if pondering weather or not to share the story before jumping to his paws making the pups jump a bit "There are things from you deepest nightmares living in those woods and today I Met one face to face" He paused for dramatic effect "I barley escaped with my life"

Hidu
Ghost hearing that popped up and giving a weird look while Star looked worried as if her life was still in danger. Suka finished her food and decided to jump up to the rafters Ghost’s Shadow decided to join her to listen to this grave tale.

Padfoot
Clyde had also caught Summer's attention, despite the fact that all these tokotas where clogging up his favorite sleeping place, He was a bit curious as to where this story was heading.

Clyde continued "If it wernt for my brave actions today our entire village would have been reduced to ash and rubble"

Summer rolled his eyes now he was exaggerating a just bit.

Annik eyed his uncle curiously wondering if his tale was true. Spice on the other hand did not hold the same skepticism as her brother the young tokota was riveted. Sugar was on the other end of the spectrum “Wha'd you do run into a twenty foot tall moose?” she asked sarcasticly.

“Oh much worse” Clyde promised as he began his story.

“We left early on that fateful day a day I'll never forget, the sun was just starting to show above the tree line. The humans took us out the yearly sacrifice had begun one among us would be chosen as tribute to the great lord Aippaq I fi-”

Hidu
Ghost howled "What the hell ya got a squirrel for a brain ya idget. We where out today to get you lost in the woods" he huffed “too bad we couldn't loose you” He said under his breath.

Star tilted her head "i thought we were out today to look for Easter eggs and goodies."

Padfoot
Clyde sighed looking at Star “Thank you captain killjoy. Continuing on...”

“We where out in the woods” Another glance to Star “looking for Easter eggs” He said with less enthusiasm.

“It seemed innocent enough we'd found a good amount of eggs to bring home but pickings where getting slim and we started thining out to cover more ground. The situation seemed dire one of us was sure to perish.... -cough- MostLikelySummerThatGuysAPussy -cough-”

Summer snorted at him rolling his eyes.

“I first began to feel something was very wrong there was something dark stirring in the woods just out of my sight”

Hidu
Star still feeling sore about the killjoy comment "Wow it must be nice to see in the first place, and the only thing that smelled off to me at the time was you." she huffed and laid back down to eat what was left of her dinner.

"Isn’t this the part where you fell into th-" Suka started but Clyde cut in.

Padfoot
"Aye I'm getting to that part!” He huffed “Now as I was saying. There was a strange air to the woods something.... unnatural.... something evil....”

Annik and Spice where still listening intently Sugar on the other hand found herself growing bored with the whole thing.

“Then it happened. It came bounding from the darkness! ragged fur and jagged teeth It's claws where as long as my tail and razor sharp. The beast was a monstrous fifteen feet tall at least it towered over me-”

Hidu
“-cough- wasn’t it a rabbit -cough-” Ghost's Shadow blurted out hoping to throw him off.

Padfoot
Clyde didn't miss a beat “oh it was a rabbit alright” He agreed “At least it was at some point in the past. But it was beyond that now, the thing could have swallowed a dire whole!”

The pups where getting a bit caught up in it now their skepticism forgotten.

Clyde looked upon his young audience with a smile “I knew I had to vanquish this beast! For the well being of every human and tokota in this village!

Hidu
"I stood my ground to fight this beast head on, while all the others went on there marry way unaware of my peril. The humans stumbled upon the gruesome scene as we were locked in bloody combat.

Padfoot
“Alright that's bullshit” piped in Ghost's Shadow “We where all there not off chasing out tails!”

Hidu
"Fine fine we were all locked in bloody combat, the humans fainted at the sight of such blood and gore. The battle felt like it went on for hours, but then I lunged for the final blow to the creatures throat. It took one final rasping breath as it closed its eyes for the last time."

Padfoot
Annik pondered this for a moment “Uncle Clyde if all of you took part in the final battle why are you the only one bleeding?”

“You see Annik I was leading the attack” Clyde said striking a proud pose “The beast saw me as the biggest threat and therefore targeted me”

“Oh” Annik said seeming to accept this answer

Another Piebald peaked her head into the barn “There you pups are!” Said Rebel obviously having been searching for them for a while

“Come on off to bed!” She instructed leading the young tokotas out of the barn to their den across the village.

Hidu
Ghost's mouth was wide open as he stared in bewilderment "How can so much horse shit come from your muzzle and not become a horses ass".

Padfoot
Clyde smirked “oh come on the pups loved it!” He commented leaving the barn his unfinished dinner in his mouth.

Hidu
Star looked to where she last heard Ghost whisper "did that really happen?” Ghost sighed "no Star, nothing at all like that happened. Clyde's just a little upset he lost to a bunny rabbit.”

Padfoot
In the town hall the tribe mates where all howling with laughter.

“How big was this rabbit?” Era asked still chuckling to himself

“I'd say about this big” Padfoot said a space between her hands about the size of a Pomeranian.

“I was worried the rabbit was gonna take the poor tokos snoot off” Hidu said with a laugh.

Padfoot paused for a second “then he'd have a hole in his snoot!” She yelled

“Well now you've done it” Faith said shaking her head.

“Want any more?” Tarb asked passing a platter of bunny meat across the table.
